Ring Central
Cornell is in the process of migrating all CLASSE phone numbers to
Ring Central. Although support requests should go through
CIT, please see below for useful links and tips on getting started.
To
install Ring Central
- Point your web browser to https://it.cornell.edu/ringcentral/install-ringcentral-non-cornell-computers for instructions
NB: That web page appears to be for computers not owned by Cornell, but it is really for computers not managed by CIT
- On Macs - follow the instructions at https://wiki.classe.cornell.edu/Computing/UserSpacePkgInstalls to install Ring Central in your user space (no admin privileges required)
- On Windows - the .exe file you downloaded installs in user space by default (no admin privileges required)
A basic set up tutorial by Andy Noyes is available at
https://youtu.be/ZHzAyQXX73g, and the CLASSE stockroom has USB headsets with microphones for use with devices that have a USB port (item # 10014).
Please email
ncs-os@cornell.edu for help resolving problems with Ring Central, and fill out the following form if you missed the last sign up and would like to get started in Ring Central.

Autodesk 2023 update complete
The Autodesk 2023 update is complete. Look for an e-mail from Tim O'Connell on the Inventor mailing list for instructions on how to start using the new version of Autodesk products.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
