11-Feb-2019
From 11-Feb-2019 (today) through 22-Feb-2019, the Wilson Lab server room will be operating with reduced cooling capabilities, as the campus chilled water capacity to the building is upgraded. In preparation for this two-week-long facility maintenance, we have shut down several non-essential servers and redundant infrastructure devices. As we monitor conditions, we may be required to shut down additional servers. While we don't expect any long-term interruptions, there may be additional second-long delays as resources and services are migrated and servers are shutdown. In addition, there could be some degradation in performance as a result of this load shedding.
Indico Upgrade: Friday, 15-Feb-2019 @ 10 AM
On Friday, 15-Feb-2019, from roughly 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the CLASSE Indico server will be upgraded off of legacy and unsupported hardware and software. Although this does involve a significant upgrade, all events, data, and users will be migrated over and not deleted.
AppsAnywhere Upgrade: Tuesday, 19-Feb-2019 @ 7:30 AM
On Tuesday, 19-Feb-2019, from 7:30 AM to 12:00 noon, the
AppsAnywhere service will be upgraded. We expect applications to be unavilable for up to an hour somewhere within this window. During that time, any applications that are active might report that there is an interruption, and will resume when the connection returns. If you have any questions or concerns, please submit a
ServiceRequest.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
