Wilson Lab West Module Switch Replacement: Tuesday, 26-Feb-2019 @ 10:00 AM
On Tuesday, 26-Feb-2019, at 10:00 AM, we will replace a defective network switch in the Wilson Lab West Module (a.k.a. CHESS trailer). Please expect a 15-20 minute network outage in the West Module sometime between 10:00 AM and 12:00 noon.
ScreenConnect Upgrade: Tuesday, 26-Feb-2019 @ 2:00 PM
On Tuesday, 26-Feb-2019, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM, we will upgrade our ScreenConnect server. You will be unable to access remote control functions during this time.
New Computer Availability
We are beginning to see increased lead times for shipments of new computers, possibly linked to a widely-reported shortage of Intel CPUs. We are working with our vendors and the CLASSE stockroom to keep new computers available, but we don't have current ETAs for some models. So, if you anticipate needing a new computer in the next few months, please fill out the
NewComputerForm now, so that we can place an order as soon as possible.
In particular, as mentioned in
previous newsletters, we are ending general support for Windows 7 on 01-Jun-2019, and many computers need to be replaced before then. If you have not yet been contacted by CLASSE-IT about a Windows 10 upgrade, please submit a
ServiceRequest to get the process started.
CLASSE Document Database Upgrade: Wednesday, 27-Feb-2019 @ 10:00 AM
Starting Wednesday, 27-Feb-2019, at 10:00 AM, the CLASSE Document Database (previously known as EDMS) will be unavailable. The system will undergo major software upgrades throughout the rest of the week. Stay tuned for details on the upgraded system in next weeks newsletter.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
