ESET Endpoint Security Client Update: Tuesday, 24-Sep-2019
On Tuesday, 24-Sep-2019, the ESET Endpoint Security Client will be updated on CLASSE-managed Windows computers. This update might result in a computer reboot during our standard maintenance period: 2:00-7:00 AM for desktops, 2:00-9:00 AM for laptops.
Please Reboot Scientific Linux 7.7 Desktops
Please reboot your Linux desktop computers if you have not already done so since last Tuesday, 17-Sep-2019. A reboot is necessary to complete the Linux operation system upgrade to Scientific Linux 7.7. New kernels and Nvidia drivers are included in this update, and release notes are available at
https://access.redhat.com/documentation/enUS/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/7/html/7.7_Release_Notes/
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
