Today's topics:
Exchange (Office 365) upgrade: December 4th starting at 5 PM.
Microsoft will be upgrading Cornell's instance of Office 365, the email/calendaring system for faculty and staff, from "Wave 14" to "Wave 15" starting at about 5PM on Wednesday, December 4. The most recent estimate for the duration of the upgrade for all of Cornell is about 2 or 3 days. There is no way to know when an individual's account will be upgraded. When your account gets upgraded, you will be prompted to exit and restart your mail client. After your mail account has been upgraded, you will receive a mail message saying "Congratulations".
Among other things, the Outlook Web App user interface at
http://outlook.cornell.edu/ will get substantial improvements.
If you have delegated management of your Exchange Calendar to someone else, please notify your delegate immediately when you have been upgraded. Delegates
must restart their mail reader whenever that happens so that changes in the calendar are properly updated.
Additional information about this email upgrade is available at

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
