Stock Computer Models
The CLASSE Computer group keeps several "classes" of computer models and peripherals available for the lab. These are a Workstation, a Desktop, and a Laptop model.
We regularly update computer models to current hardware available from Lenovo. Several new models have launched recently. You can see more details here:

Turning off Outlook's "Clutter" service
Microsoft recently added a new "Clutter" function to the email service which Cornell uses. Unfortunately, it can cause you to overlook important messages which it has put in a folder named "Clutter". We recommend that you turn it off.
To turn Clutter off, one has to do it in the Web App at
http://outlook.cornell.edu The procedure is documented on the Cornell IT help pages at
http://www.it.cornell.edu/services/guides/facstaff_email/clutter.cfm
X2Go service at CLASSE - Mac OSX clients
If you're using
X2Go on a personally owned computer to access CLASSE resources, please make sure to update to the latest
X2Go Client from their website:
http://wiki.x2go.org/doku.php/download:start - please use the
X2Go Client,
not PyHoca-GUI. This release solves some problems on Mac OS X clients specifically. CLASSE GRID.exe scripted connections on Windows are not affected.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
