Passwords
In the coming months the Laboratory will be transitioning to a single central system for authenticating CLASSE personnel and authorizing their access to CLASSE IT resources. To simplify this transition, you may consider setting all of your CLASSE passwords to a single value. For more information, and documentation on resetting most of your CLASSE passwords, please see

E-mail Migration - Wed Feb 20th
Users of Cornell e-mail are reminded that CLASSE's e-mail service will be migrated to Outlook 365 on Wednesday Feb. 20. We encourage you to follow the pre-migration instructions at
http://www.it.cornell.edu/services/guides/facstaff_email/office365/migrate/pre-index.cfm The instructions are different for each e-mail client, but are relatively clear and simple. There will be a hands-on session to assist those who have difficulties with CIT's instructions on Monday Feb. 18 at 1PM in the Wilson Commons, with perhaps a Tuesday Feb. 19 session to be scheduled. There will be some post-migration adjustments to be made as well.
General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our
NewsLetter and via
CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.
Unless other arrangements have been made,
CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see
SystemExpectations.
