Requesting Computers and Computer Accounts

The LEPP Web site includes links to many useful Web and Wiki pages.

When new arrivals will be needing CLASSE computer accounts or computers, please notify the CLASSE Computer Group by using the Web pages "Request CLASSE Computer Account" and "Request a New Computer". They're available by going to the main LEPP Web site and following these links:

• http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/ → User Resources → Computing → "Request CLASSE Computer Account"
• http://www.lepp.cornell.edu/ → User Resources → Computing → "Request a New Computer"

or you can use these URLs:

• https://wiki.lepp.cornell.edu/lepp/bin/view/Computing/NewUserForm
• https://wiki.lepp.cornell.edu/lepp/bin/view/Computing/NewComputerForm

If you don't use these forms, the CLASSE computer group usually has to ask for more information, which often results in delays.

Exchange Mail Migration to Office 365 delayed

The migration of CLASSE email and calendar services from Cornell's local Exchange servers to Microsoft's distributed Office 365 servers has been postponed a week until February 20. We are in the process of finalizing the list of NetIDs, Group Accounts and Room Accounts to ensure all CHESS and LEPP accounts get moved at the same time.

General network and server maintenance will occur every Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. The CLASSE-IT group will always announce any expected disruptions in our NewsLetter and via CLASSE-IT-NEWS-L, but with the size and complexity of our network there is always the potential for something to go wrong. We will do our best to contain all network maintenance and planned outages to Tuesdays from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM.

Unless other arrangements have been made, CLASSE-managed Windows systems may be updated and rebooted on Tuesday morning at 2:00 AM, so please avoid critical or lengthy operations at that time. For more details, please see SystemExpectations.
