Matlab 2013a push to CLASSE managed Windows computers - Monday, July 22, 2013
Windows computers currently running Matlab 2010a will receive Matlab 2013a during normal updates next Monday night. Matlab 2010a will still be available for a while, but you should start using the new version and features right away unless there is a compatibility issue. If you are not controlling hardware or interfacing with Labview etc on Windows desktops or lab restricted Laptops (Laptops that are not to leave the lab), we will be reviewing if Matlab is necessary to be maintained on those computers. We are encouraging everyone to use Matlab on Linux if possible.
Use Matlab on Linux
Most calculations can be done remotely, either interactively or as batch jobs, on Linux farm nodes via our Grid Engine: https://wiki.classe.cornell.edu/Computing/GridEngine
This can provide better performance than most desktop computers and would be using dedicated compute nodes.

lnx6212 is a general-purpose system available for testing SL6.4.
