IMPORTANT: To print to a CLASSE printer, you must be on a CLASSE network. If your computer is connected to RedRover, eduroam or any other non-CLASSE network, please first connect to the CLASSE VPN by following the instructions at ClasseVPN.
Please refer to our PrinterList for information on printers available at CLASSE.
Be careful to select the correct (nearest) printer. Sending your printout to the wrong printer can be embarrassing, It also wastes paper and time.
Please see LPR for an explanation of the LPR/LPD printing protocol.
LPR normally is required when printing from non-CLASSE computers, including Windows. The Windows LPR configuration menu is "hidden".
Please see PDFPrinting for important information on printing PDFs here at CLASSE.
PDF X-Change normally is used instead of Adobe Acrobat
Printing from a Macintosh (either a private laptop or a public CLASSE system)
For public CLASSE systems, pointers up-to-date Postcript Printer Description (PPD) Files are on the CLASSE Printer List page (NB: "Generic" always works, some vendor-supplied PPDs do NOT)
Please see Printing from Mac OS X for instructions on using LPR to print from a Macintosh running OS X.
Printing from Windows
Non-CLASSE Windows computers on the CLASSE "LNS Protected" network must print using PrinterLogic.
Non-CLASSE Windows computers on RedRover, eduroam or other non-CLASSE networks must connect to the CLASSE network using ClasseVPN, then print using PrinterLogic.
Printing Information for even older Windows OSs. This is provided as a courtesy, but most users will not be running these OSs. We cannot provide further support for personal computers running Windows 2000 or NT4.
Please see Printing from Linux for information on Printing from a CLASSE Linux system.

Laptop Users: Because wireless networking in the PSB is provided by RedRover or eduroam, you must connect to CLASSE's network using the CLASSE VPN before you can print on a CLASSE printer in the PSB. See General Information above.
Desktop Users: Since CLASSE desktop computers are connected to the CLASSE public network, you should be able to print using the methods described above, without using the CLASSE VPN.
